Zoo To end the week's collection of vintage design posts, I thought I'd share a find I went bananas for. Here's a look at the cover design for the very first guide book issued by the new Chicago Zoological Park in Brookfield, IL in the early 1930s.

The zoo was built with the progressive idea of featuring more natural habitats for the animals and it stands to reason that the guide cover would feature progressive art. The striking Art Deco monkey was illustrated in bold colors by Edward Krimston, who I have not been able to find much info on. If anyone has any insight into this artist, please share.

Hope you've enjoyed a week of vintage image posts!
