Alabaster came up with the design as a way for him to enjoy English summers, watch wildlife and read. His idea stemmed from the concept of the classic tiny shepherd's huts used in the 19th and 20th century by shepherds during sheep raising and lambing. Staying true to the original concept of small hideaways, Alabaster's versions reminds of typical gabled-roof houses with one important improvement-the apex of the roof is truncated to accommodate a long skylight.
