Registration is now open for architecture-related youth programs as well as weekend art workshops for adults. Each program was developed with regard to TPI’s mission, which in addition to conserving the masterful buildings and landscape of Taliesin, is to educate the public about Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture and ideas, and share with the public the iconic and inspirational setting of his personal, 600-acre estate in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Find out more after the jump...

Wright 4 Kids! - June 2nd - This one-day event takes place within the Hillside Home School, a building on the Taliesin estate that Wright originally designed as a boarding school for his aunts in 1902. Today it is the summer headquarters for the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. It’s the perfect setting to introduce children ages 5 – 12 to architecture, art and nature through art activities, mini-workshops and a tour of the Hillside Home School. Sign up for either the morning or afternoon session. $10 per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult (maximum 1 adult per registration).

Architecture Camp - June or July  - This architecture day camp is offered June 18th – 20th   and July 9th – 11th for students in 5th through 10th grades, introducing participants to the principles of organic architecture and Frank Lloyd Wright. Students will research, design and construct their own models. The three-day camp is held at the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center and includes private tours of the Hillside Home School Building and Taliesin. $200 per student (includes lunches).

Adult Workshops - July and August  - The 2012 Taliesin Art Workshop series includes two unique painting courses which take place on scheduled weekends in July and August. July 7th and 8th, Taiwanese artist Yueh-mei Cheng will introduce the simple and elegant style of Chinese painting on silk, a workshop that includes the option to tour Taliesin and Wright’s Asian art collection. August 11th and 12th is an oil painting workshop which is primarily a plein air course, led by professional artist Georgene Pomplun. Participants will paint from the rolling hills of the Taliesin landscape. Each workshop is $200 per person (includes lunches).

Space is limited and advance registration is required for all programs. TPI’s educational outreach is also supported through grant funding, in-kind sponsors and individual donations.
