Gitanjali Rao, an 11-year old resident of Lone Tree, Colorado, earned the title of "America's Top Young Scientist" when she won the this year’s Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge for her inspired invention of a sensor that can more efficiently detect lead in water than traditional methods.
