Leave it to Norwegian industrial designers to modernize a 1913 log cabin built on an apple orchard in Tønsberg, Norway. Anette and Fredrik chose to update the traditional house with carefully considered color, Scandinavian midcentury furniture, and classic lighting. We couldn't help but notice some of our favorite pieces in the simply designed kitchen and dining rooms; to get the look, see our sources below. See more of Anette and Fredrik's home overlooking the fjord from Bo Bedre . Photography by Inger Marie Grini for Bo Bedre. Above: Modern accents stand out against farmhouse bead board paneling in the kitchen. Above: Anette and Fredrik started with the wood floors (run down after generations of use) by painting them a light gray throughout the house. Above: Cecile Manz's Caravaggio P4 Pendant Lamp is made of drawn aluminum that is then coated with a high-gloss black paint. The lamp hangs from 118 inches of field-cuttable red cord; $895 from YLighting. Above: The black-on-black Wegner Wishbone Chair features black lacquered wood and a black seat; $949 from Danish Design Store. Above: The Artemide Tolomeo Classic Wall Lamp is designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina and adjusts at five points for variety of illumination possibilities; $305 from Lumens.
