"I want to pass along a wonderful opportunity for anyone traveling through upstate New York (near Syracuse). After hearing about a Stickley Museum “road show” being held at the local Chicago-based Toms-Price furniture stores (and mentioned in PraireMod), my wife and I decided to attend. However, due to a small snafu on the appointment scheduling web site, we missed the show at our local store (Wheaton). However, we arrived just as the show had ended, and the Stickley Museum Director was still there. After a short conversation, the museum director invited us to stop by the museum if we were ever in town. Would you know that we were already planning a trip through the area the following weekend to visit relatives (as I am originally from upstate New, York)? Short story is that we did take the museum director up on her invitation, and enjoyed a wonderful hour and a-half private tour of the Stickley Museum.

If anyone is in the area, it is well worth the time to stop and take it in. The museum director “Sarah” is full of interesting facts about the entire Stickley family including the current owners of the Stickley brand, the Audi family. Her enthusiasm is quite catching. She is working hard to build and create additional experiences and stories to promote the interest and preservation of the Stickley  history and heritage. We learned so much in that short visit that it created a renewed appetite in us for even more. I think it would be wonderful to mention the Stickley Museum opportunity in Fayetteville, NY and “Sarah” in particular. She would love folks to stop in. As a side note, there is also a Stickley owned retail store in the same town, just minutes from the museum. And if anyone is traveling through on a Tuesday, factory tours are also available in nearby Manlius, NY."

Thanks Dave! If you'd like to plan a visit to the Stickly Museum at 300 Orchard Street in Fayetteville, NY then visit the Stickley website or call 315.637.2278 for more details.
