Hans and Ursula van Schoonhoven founded House of Orange in Melbourne, Australia, as a way to promote the Northern European design aesthetic—Dutch design in particular; "the edginess, the natural mixing of old and new, and the attention to form and function," as they say. We especially like their Back to Basics line of outdoor furniture, featuring reclaimed timbers, simple lines, and limewash finishes. Go to House of Orange to see more. Above: An outdoor tableau at House of Orange. Above: A limewashed table on casters with companion benches; made from local recycled timbers in a limewash finish Above: Outdoor chaise longues. Above: A rope light by with green-painted Thonet chair.
