Cozine Creek Cottage is an example of sustainable architecture design created by m.o.daby design, built by Cellar Ridge in McMinnville. It focuses on energy efficiency, and achieved  a 2011 Northwest Energy Star Home of the Year. This green building was designed and built for Pat Britton. This green building was designed and built for Pat Britton. The design and construction were considered very carefully to provide low cost, also efficient construction process. The eco construction is built with  a double-wall frame and offset 2×4 studs, providing  thermal bridging reduction. Insulation of blown-in blanket of fiberglass to R32  is also provided. For the basement, R38  is used, and for roof cavity, R60 is used.

To achieve high energy efficiency, this sustainable building is completed with some sustainable appliances, such as CFL and LED lighting, heat recovery ventilator, Energy Star water heater, Low-e Anderson windows with recycled content in glass and frames, etc. A  ductless, mini-split in a ceiling-mounted is used to provide heating and cooling. Passive design also takes roll to control the house’s temperature.

Some sustainable building materials are also used, such as natural wood carpeting, bamboo flooring, no-VOC interior paints and finishes, TREX Decking, etc. Erosion control for the landscape is also considered. Water conservation is also controlled by the use of  low-flow faucets, dual-flush toilets.
