Ever since UK designer Tom Dixon launched his Beat line of pendant lights, inspired by centuries-old techniques, we've been obsessed with hammered metal lighting (the way light reflects off of hammered metal is magical). Here's a roundup of some favorites: Above: Tom Dixon Beat Pendants are inspired by the sculptural simplicity of brass cooking pots and traditional water vessels on the subcontinent. The Beat lights are spun and hand-beaten by craftsmen of Moradabad in Northern India. Above: The Fat Beat Light with brass interior and black lacquer exterior finish is also available with a white lacquer exterior; $490 at Yliving. Above: A sleek modern take on the hammered light, Original BTC Stanley 1 Hammered Copper Pendant ; $465 at Horne. Above: The Bennett Pendant is made of hammered copper; $550 at Jayson Home. Above: Armand Riviera Iron Pendant made of hammered metal with a matte silver finish; $408 at Lumens. Above: Made of silver-plated brass, the Pin Dot Drop Lamp is hand-hammered and then drilled to create the delicate pin dots; $198 at Terrain. Above: Light shines through the Pin Dot Lantern at night. See our earlier post: Moroccan Pendant Lanterns for more ideas.
