In need of a color infusion for spring? Look no further: Brooklyn-based Morris Etc. , a new venture founded by husband and wife duo Amy and Brett Morris, offers a range of brightly colored striped handcrafted Peruvian rugs. The Morrises aims to fill the market gap for rug hunters looking for something more substantial than Ikea but still affordable; the rugs are made from 100 percent sheep's wool, and many are vintage pieces gathered by a collective of Peruvian women. Morris Etc. also commissions their own designs and is working with anthropologists in the Peruvian Highlands to find collectives still working in traditional ways. For more information, visit Morris Etc. Above: The rugs are comprised of woven strips (made on small looms) stitched together to make a larger piece. Most measure 5 feet square.
