After purchasing the property, the owners commissioned the architects to rebuild the house and transform it into a modern residence. Upon closer inspection, the architects realized that the Indian clay roof tiles, still in good condition, could be reused to create vertical screens. They designed vertical rods to hold the clay tiles whilst allowing free movement to swivel and turn. The clay shading transformed the house into an insulated and well-ventilated volume.
