Since Google was awarded far less space than anticipated, BIG and Heatherwick scrapped their original village-like proposal that laid out multiple buildings covered by a glazed bubble dome. In contrast, the new 600,000-square-foot LEED Platinum-seeking plan introduces a denser cluster of buildings located at the heart of campus and topped by a translucent tent-like canopy.
