San Francisco-based John Klopf (a member of the Remodelista Architect/Designer Directory) is known for his respectful remodels of Eichlers and other modernist homes in the Bay Area. Case in point: this midcentury hillside home overlooking the Golden Gate Park panhandle, which Klopf updated with modern materials and colors. For more information, go to Klopf Architecture . Above: Klopf painted the front door red and widened the second-story deck. The red door acts as an accent against the neutral palette and hints at more to come.
