The Jung Haus, designed by architecture and construction firm GO Logic, is the first official passive house in the state of Michigan. This 2,440 square foot, three-bedroom residence includes features that maximize energy-efficiency while keeping its design complementary to the traditional homes nearby. Its use of sustainable, ethical materials contributed to its recent Fine Homebuilding’s 2014 Houses Award for the Best Energy-Smart Home, and in addition to living in this gorgeous eco-friendly home, the Jung family is dedicated to restoring natural habitats around their property. They’re working hard to eliminate many invasive species, and will be re-establishing an oak savannah in the years ahead. GO Logic, based in Belfast, Maine, creates sustainable, well-designed buildings including private residences, institutions, and co-housing.
