2013 has been an amazing year for architecture but our most popular posts among readers definitely seem to be those that defy the status quo. We’ve seen a lot of stories about people moving into unconventional spaces that cost less than new buildings, like the Brooklyn couple who moved into a stacked shipping container in Williamsburg and the couple who left their jobs to move into a recycled windows love nest. Steve Areen built his own magical dome house in Thailand in six weeks for just $8,000 and received hundreds of emails from fans after the story was published on our site. Check out these and some of our other top architecture posts of 2013 and vote for your favorite!
