Mister Finch: An Edgy Textile Artist
Average Rating: ( 0 votes)
Self-taught and definitely part genius, Yorkshire-based Mister Finch upcycles scraps of fabrics into creatures and vegetation inspired by his surrounding woodlands. In honor of Halloween, he breaks out this year with leather for the first time. Photography by Mister Finch . Above: This Halloween spider comes with its own body armor and leash. Above: "This is a soft sculpture of a black leather toadstool," says Finch. "I wanted to make a few spooky things for Halloween and had the idea of making this fungus, almost like an ingredient for a witches spell." The firm rounded cap is made from a rescued leather jacket. For more information, see My Name is Finch . Above: Mr. Finch borders on the obsessive, perhaps; we think his cat might agree. "Some days you start sewing," says Finch. "You forget to feed the cat and you need some reminding." N.B. Inspired and intrigued by Mister Finch's Textile Art? See 255 back posts of Textile Artists .
