From Wright in Wisconsin:

If you—or anyone you know—would be interested in volunteering for a two to three hour shift at one of the tour houses, you will receive a free pass to see the other houses on the tour ($50 value).  If you enjoy people and are interested in architecture and design this is a great way to spend the day. You do not need to already know a lot about architecture - all you need will be provided in advance of the tour.

As a volunteer docent you will be responsible for pointing interesting features about the house you are assigned and guiding visitors to the next room on the tour.  If you would prefer a non-speaking role, there are plenty of those opportunities also.

This tour has eleven amazing private homes available for interiors tours.  Most are on Milwaukee's east side and northshore,  along with the three American System Built Homes by Frank Lloyd Wright on Burnham Street.  Along with Frank Lloyd Wright the other featured architects include Russell Barr Williamson, John Randal McDonald, Clare Hosmer, and Mendel Glickman.

Check out our website for more details about the tour houses, photographs of each, and information on other events planned for the Wright & Like 2011: Milwaukee Originals weekend .

If you would like to volunteer or have questions about volunteering, please contact Sherri Shokler in the Frank Lloyd Wright ® Wisconsin office at (608-287-0339) or sshokler@wrightinwisconsin.org.
