Hope Fades For Pilgrim Baptist Church Restoration

The Chicago Tribune reports that hope and patience have run thin for the promised restoration of the 2006 fire-damaged Pilgrim Baptist Church by Adler and Sullivan in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood. A lack of funds, the eyesore nature of the ruin, and unresponsiveness from the congregation is raising tempers in the neighborhood. If restoration is not an option, preservationists suggest a park incorporating what remains be developed as a testament to the once proud building. Read...
