Daniel Libeskind's first residential project in Berlin, named Sapphire, is a faceted building clad in self-cleaning stoneware tiles that help purify the air. Manufacturer Casalgrande Padana produced the three-dimensional geometric-patterned tiles coated in a layer of titanium dioxide which allows them to break down dirt and grime when exposed to the sun's UV rays.
