Chicago Junior School in Elgin, Illinois has closed its doors, and the historic property with its architecturally significant buildings, designed by John Van Bergen, have been foreclosed on by the bank. A sale of the property is pending. The unique Prairie Style buildings are now threatened with demolition, and the school's nearly 50 acre nature preserve is in danger of being subdivided and developed as an industrial park.
