When Tine Edginer and Carsten Lau Laursen renovated the bathroom in their winter cabin in Denmark, they creatively decided where to spend and where to save. Detailed with a mix of affordable options and subtle Scandinavian style, their results stand as proof: you don't need a big budget to get what you're after. Here, we dissect the key elements. Above: Tine and Carsten's newly finished bathroom. To source a similar white paint, see our post: 10 Easy Pieces: Architects' White Paint Picks . Photograph by Tine Edginer for  Bolig Magasinet . Above: The  Hansgrohe Axor Montreux two-handled, single-hole lavatory faucet is $419.13 from eFaucets. For more options, visit 10 Easy Pieces: Traditional Deck-Mounted Bath Faucets . Above: The Porcher Square Fine Fireclay Lavatory Faucet  sink is $276 at eFaucets. Above: Tine and Carsten used Ikea's Fas sconce, which is no longer available in the US, but the company continues to carry the  Fas Clamp Spotlight  ($9.99). An alternative is the  Krämare Wall Spotlight , also $9.99. Above: InterDesign's Formbu Large Shower Curtain Tension Rod in a natural finished bamboo is $22.99 from Home Depot. If your space doesn't require a tension rod, The Renovator's Supply sells Unfinished Pine Curtain Rods for $19 each through Amazon. Above: CB2's Shower Curtain Roller Clips come in a set of 12 for $9.95. Above: Mountain Laurel Mercantile's Sturdy Cotton Duck Shower Curtain has a row of nickel-coated brass grommets and does not require a liner; $30 for the stall size at Amazon. Above: For a shower fixture with a similar industrial look, we like the Kohler Industrial Exposed Shower (K-7258) in a rough plate finish with an adjustable showerhead; $263.25 from Amazon. For a hand-shower setup like Tine and Carsten's, the Toto TS630F2-CP Handshower Set is $170 from eFaucet. Above: The Wall Mounted Soap Dish is fabricated from die-cast zinc and plated in chrome; $3.09 from Harney Hardware. Above: Something as simple as a wooden stool can transform the look of a small space. A worthwhile splurge? Danish design company Skagerak's Cobbler Stool , designed by Uffe Berg, available in oak and teak (shown) for $349 from the Danish Design Store.  Above: For a serene bathroom, white towels are a good choice. Ikea's Fräjen Bath Towel is made from 100-percent terry cotton; $4.99. Also see  10 Easy Pieces: Basic White Bath Towels .
