PrairieMod reader George J. recently visited the Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon at a former Marine base near Irvine, California. Twenty energy-efficient 1,000 square foot completely energy self-sufficient houses built by students from 20 Universities are there in competition in 10 categories. PrairieMod readers in southern California might like to see what these ingenious students have produced. Remaining public viewing days are Thursday October 10 - Sunday, October 13, 2013, 11 am to 7 pm....
