Some of you might also know that the Mueller family has Prairie School connections: nearby Millikin Place has three Prairie School residences designed by Marion Mahony (with some Frank Lloyd Wright, George Mann Nidecken, and Walter Burley Griffin associated as well). I was pleasantly surprised to see that the museum had three original Niedecken-designed furniture pieces from the Adolph Mueller Residence (#4 Millikin Place) on display—including one of the home's chairs shown in the vintage photo at left. Plan a visit to see the museum the next time you're in Decatur and check out their on-line collection of Millikin Place-related vintage photos here.
