Jackson Clements Burrows designed a house with sustainable design applied. located in old Barwon Heads, Australia. This house, called Seaview House, is located in an area, where some dilapidated surf shacks sit, a lot of them are post war beach house. Now this area has a lot of contemporary architectural houses, but the owners of this house would like to have a beach house that honor the history of the location.

This eco construction has three main pavilions, connected by glazed link to each other. The design was made to combine  rural and coastal lifestyle, and to provide long lasting design. Each pavilion was optimized to have good connection with the views, to have a good interaction with the passersby on the street, also to provide natural ventilation and daylighting.

The northeast pavilion of this sustainable home building has a shaded gauze room, mimicking traditional rural woolsheds. It also has timber battens to provide shading and cross ventilation. Passive concept is applied, here, there are large barn doors open to the east and west, protected by  sliding gauze screens. While they are opened, they may provide a cool space in summer, and providing warmer space in winter when they are closed. An outdoor shower is available too. A single semi basement garage which can cover  a car or boat is available.

Some sustainable features are available for this house, such as  hydronic in-floor heating,  solar hot water, rainwater capturing system, active and passive shading system, etc. There is also a  small vegetable and herb garden, consists of native  plant species, including dune grasses. There are no air conditioning available.

The three pavilions of this sustainable architecture building have their own functions. The south pavilion covers open plan living space, study laundry and guest bedroom/bathroom with river views and the primary north solar orientation. The northwest pavilion covers retreat, master bedroom, Walk-in robes and ensuite. And the northeast pavilion becomes the front pavilion to provide good connection with outdoor surroundings.
