The origami bench is a prototype lounge seating designed by blackLAB Architects. This original piece was created for the common space in the recent See the Light special exhibit at the 2014 Interior Design Show in Toronto. The benches are made from facets of baltic birch plywood connected by piano hinges with a white laminate top. The geometry of the planes fold together to give stiffness to the shells that rest on tubular steel legs. After the Interior Design Show, the benches were repurposed as lounge seating for our office space. Link
