Diamonds are a girls best friend they say. Many fall head over heels because of the precision, gleam and cut of the World’s most precious stone. It is the highest symbol of luxury, but what if its material was different?  Tom Chung, with the help of Swedish cabinet makers at the Carl Malmsten School in Stockholm, Sweden, has designed wooden diamonds. These creations were made from rare birch wood only found in the Swedish mountains. They’re put through a special process to prevent them from cracking during the seasons. Their remains are used to create a box mimicking the original birch logs. These diamonds question the idea of luxury while also embracing the relationship between craftsmanship and material.
