Hover House 3 is the third seri of Hover Houses series, designed by Glen Irani Architects. It is a green architecture, completed with hovering green construction that creates its speciality. Located in the Venice Canals in California, this sustainable construction used a tight lot with green technology attached.

The green home design is intended to maximize outdoor space. This construction may also reduce the materials needed, also the labors. With 3 bedrooms, 2 office rooms, this 2,500 sq ft eco friendly house want to propose less resource-intensive outdoor living to reduce interior living space. By spending more time outdoors, the energy resources, and the carbon footprint can be reduced.

The sustainable house design hovers over a large covered outdoor patio, while the living space and bedrooms are located above, at second and third level. A garage is located next to the outdoor patio at ground level.  Some materials used here are intended to provide less embodied energy needed on the development, such as man-made slate panels, exposed concrete walls and radiant hydronic heating.

Another sustainable features are also provided. This green house design using some glass materials, providing good access of natural lighting for the interior. Natural ventilation is also provided by calculating the windows placement. There is also a 9 inch wind tower above the roof. For energy source, the green home building utilize photovoltaic panels mounted at the roof, which can provide 80% of power needs.

To minimize the emission from finished replacements, all interior finishes are designed to be devised to last indefinitely, except the interior wall paints. The other eco friendly materials are tar-free, cold-applied roofing. By the using of these sustainable materials, VOC and CO emissions, also the field-construction noise may be reduced.
