I had a chance to visit the ArchiTech Gallery in CHicago on Tuesday to see the new exhibit "Architectural Drawing: From Wright to Goldberg" and boy was I glad I did! Several amazing renderings and plans from a host of famous masters were on display. If you love the art of architecture, get yourself to the River North area of Chicago and see this show! Here's a glimpse of a couple of gems you'll see...

Here's a Marina City marker on tracing paper sketch of the mezzanine level of the Westernmost tower from 1995 when the Goldberg firm was trying to get the House of Blues build-out job in the Marina City Theater:

And here's an example of an architectural drawing that's really less about the building than it is about the lifestyle within as seen in Abel Faidy's cutaway section "Polemical" drawing of the Villa Dionysos from 1959:
