I have to do it. For the last year and a half, materialicious has been written on Wordpress, which, while open-source and a joy to many, has been nothing short of an absolute nightmare for me to deal with. You would not believe the stress I’ve had to endure. Now that the blog is well-known enough and has almost 5,000 subscribers, I feel safe in my decision to make things as simple as possible for myself by switching over to Typepad. I like it, because all my sites are now hosted there, and I no longer have to worry about the incessant upgrades and security issues inherent to Wordpress and other blogging platforms that require one to self-host, meaning paying for server space and maintaining said space. Trust me, my brain just ain’t wired that way, and all of that tech nonsense was simply getting in my way, severely curtailing my ability to post lots of nice content.

So, anyhoo - materialicious is now located at materialicious.com I have not imported the old content over, for too many reasons not worth discussing at this point. That content will remain in place at materialicio.us as an archive of sorts, until such time as I deem it safe to delete (it’ll be a while!). However, before I do that, what I *will* do is re-blog a lot of the best and most useful and pretty content as time goes on. Okay? It’s just as well, because the content in materialicio.us is a friggin’ mess.

Please update your bookmarks for materialicious to materialicious.com

If you are an RSS or Email subscriber, do nothing. I use Feedburner, and it’s easy enough switch y’all over. If you encounter any problems, please do let me know.

As for the linkbacks? Anyone who has ever linked to content in the old blog will find that after a while, those links will not work, and instead will be redirected to the new address. I apologize for that, but hey, it is what it is.

Thanks for your patience. And keep reading and commenting!

Onward and upward.

Justin
