"I thought PrairieMod might also be interested in this. This is the Curtis Yelland house in Mason City, designed by William Drummond (who was probably Wright's most talented employee in the Oak Park studio after Griffin and Mahony). This was built in 1910. It suffered a devastating fire several years ago and was close to being demolished until a local builder decided to purchase and rebuild it. As you can see from my photos (taken 2 weeks ago), it is almost complete."

Anthony goes on to note that this should probably be looked at as a reconstruction instead of a restoration, since the interior will not use historically-accurate materials. However, the saving of this house is still heroic!

Thanks for the note and photos Anthony--it's always great to see any significant work of residential architecture saved instead of being destroyed. See all Anthony's Yelland photos here and read more about Yelland's unfortunate fire here.
