While Iraq is currently in the news for the cultural war crimes being inflicted upon it by ISIS, Curbed National reflects on a time in the late 1950s when Iraq had dreams of Modernism and engaged the iconic architects of the era to re-imagine the "Cradle of Civilization." Of course Frank Lloyd Wright's Plan for Greater Baghdad takes center stage--one can only imagine how different history might have been if these visions of Modernism might...
