With guidance by a professional architect, Youth Architecture Workshops give students entering grades 7 through 12 the opportunity to practice design, drawing and model-building in the drafting room of Frank Lloyd Wright's Oak Park studio, 951 Chicago Ave., Oak Park, Ill.
 
Youth Architecture Workshop Level I, 8:30-11:30 a.m., Monday, June 23 to Thursday, June 26, is the gateway to other summer workshops at the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust. Level I students learn to use drafting tools, interpret architectural plans and draw to scale. Using Wright’s design principles, each student creates a floor plan and three-dimensional model and participates in an architectural critique. Cost is $200 for Trust members; $225, non-members.
 
In Prairie School Design Workshop, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Monday, July 28 to Friday, Aug. 1, students design, draw and construct a model of a two-story Prairie style residence. Completion of Level I is a prerequisite. Cost is $225 for Trust members; $250, non-members.

New to the Trust in 2014, Frank Lloyd Wright and the Art of Japan, 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, July 9 through Friday, July 11 at Unity Temple, 875 Lake St., Oak Park, Ill. is for students entering grades 3-8. The workshop will explore the ancient arts of Japan and their influence on the work of Frank Lloyd Wright through drawing, printmaking, origami and calligraphy. Cost is $70 for Trust members; $75, non-members

The Frank Lloyd Wright Trust will host Summer Saturdays, a series of family workshops for exploring architecture and design at the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Frederick C. Robie House, 5757 S. Woodlawn Ave., in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood.
 
Beginning Saturday, July 12 and continuing through Saturday, Aug. 9, these workshops will cover different topics with accompanying projects. Each session is $5 per child and free for an accompanying adult.
 
Summer Saturday family programs run 10 a.m. to noon and feature the following topics:
 
· Sun Prints – July 12
· LEGO® Architects – July 19 and Aug. 16
· Art Glass Done Wright – July 26
· Origami – Aug. 2
· Family Printmaking – Aug. 9
