Los Angeles designer Marco Manansala’s conceptual packaging design was inspired by a fictitious beer brewing company called Black Market Goods. Manansala created the bottles to resemble illegal weapons sold in the black market, as a play upon the company’s name. Shiny yellow engine enamel on the removable fins, cap, and base of the bottle stand in bold contrast to the matte primer paint used for the body. “Each bottle took about 10 hrs to create due to the long drying times of the primer paint used for the body.” Leaving no detail out, Manansala designed a wooden box with a bracing system to hold the bottles in place during transportation.
