I live in a building of eight one-bedroom units, none of which have enough space for a laundry room. My upstairs neighbors, a young couple with two children under the age of five, were desperate for a washer/dryer, so they turned their tiny breakfast nook into a laundry room. In our flat, the breakfast nook functions as my musician boyfriend's studio (something I initially leveraged while bargaining for the main closet).
