My wife and I designed our ICF home, before "building green" was cool, from the ground up in 2004 -- with the help of a very talented local design/build firm (W2 Studio). It's our version of a Hill Country, "rustic modern" sanctuary, near White Rock Lake in Dallas. It has spray foam attic insulation, metal roofing, tankless hot water, Energy Star appliances, argon-filled low-e wood casement windows, large overhangs for summer sun blockage, porous driveway, xeriscaped lot, variable-speed HVAC, maintenance-free stucco exterior, and is entirely VOC-free American Clay Earth Plaster walls/ceilings inside.
