Way to go, Seattle! A community in the city of Seattle is working with Ed Mazria and his organization Archtiecture 2030 with the goal creating a carbon neutral environment by 2030. I met with Ed recently and listened to his compelling talk at Google. Although I thought I knew much of the data on buildings role in carbon, waste and climate change, I was shocked by the frightening statistics he was showing. But it was also inspiring as a call to action. We in the design and construction profession have a huge opportunity to reinvent and innovate for a better future. Below is a great short video on the Race to Zero City project in Seattle. And to learn a whole lot more, I highly recommend checking out Ed’s website at architecture2030.org.
