Hello there!

My wife, son, and I have been determined to build a second home on the Washington Coast since we bought a near half-acre piece of the dunes there almost two-and-a-half years ago. While mostly a fun process, we have worked quite hard to figure out how a Federal bureaucrat and his non-profit-employed wife, with a kid in Montessori school could afford to undertake a project that in our youth was reserved to the wealthier families in our communities. We love living life fully, and surfing, after fatherhood, is my main passion in life. So much so that we have been pushing faithfully forward, with our heads down like determined boxers, convinced that we can make this happen. And since Livemodern.com has provided us with our small, highly informative network of modern thinkers and plenty of inspiration, I thought I would at least try to begin to pay that back by writing a bit about our experience as we go. Thanks for looking in on us, and I promise I’ll really get this started later this weekend.
