Modernist Architect Pierre Koenig, famous for his Case Study Houses, died in Los Angeles this past Sunday, 4 April 2004.
His Case Study Houses numbered 21 and 22 are sources of perhaps the most iconic images of the entire Arts and Architecture Magazine Case Study House program. He will be sorely missed now at a time when the lessons of his work seem so relevant and salient.
