Virginia Plat House - roof framed
Editorial Rating:
New photos from the owner of the Virginia Plat House today. The framing of the roof is almost complete - the overhang at one side still needs to go in. These photos are from December, before xmas, so its likely that the roof is complete and the house sheathed by now.

A few more photos are posted after the jump below, and of course all of the photos we have received can be seen at the flickr set for this project.

I don't know what to make of it!
I never would have predicted that this would be the most popular design. So far its been built by empty nesters, and young familys for a weekend house. That was certainly the target, but I never expected it to be more popular than designs for people building a primary residence. I guess it jives with all the modern houses I see at the beach - people are more willing to take risks with vacation homes and retirement homes.
I'm sure each country in the EU retains their unique building standards. In italy I'd expect they would build with concrete block. Really the best thing go do is give a local builder the plans and let them have at it!

So what do you think?
I'm seriously thinking of purchasing some land in Italy at the moment, what do you think would have to be modified in your stock plans to make them EU compliant?
