to study IBU homes
Sara, I am going to work on some IBU designs this summer. I'm not sure why - it always seems like the weird cousin of the prefab movement. I would really like to see it get a foothold and just be considered as a viable option. There are some clear advantages like strength and ready transport that allows it to do things that regular modular just can not do. Its more product ready in this regard as compared to modular where a regional manufacturer must be identified. You will hear about it on the blog!
lol
Yeah, looks like they managed to plop an extra bedroom on the other side of that garage. wtf??
Strange comic strip! :)
another garage
I think that's another garage door for the requisite 3 car garage.
Hideous
Hideous… sounds like a new character from George Lucas.. “Darth Hideous”… It made me laugh – I know I’m on the right track when it comes to the kind of design we are looking for, because my first reaction to houses of this style and type is exactly “Hideous”… We have a couple of guys here at work that have just bought into a new development of these Hideous… and I have to listen to the pompous gloating EVERY day …I’m getting board of listening – I just don’t want to hear it anymore.

I think perhaps you need a McMansions McSuck bumper sticker for your office:

Or perhaps a LamiDesign Mug for your staff meetings that says Modern House/Less fat, more taste

I just have to say that the IBU prefab is truly cool. Is that something you're working on?
I think it's so funny that you chose the most hideous gabled homes. I am sure it was easy enough to find those images at www.coolhouseplans.com, or such. That one on the left just doesn't make any sense!
