Happy trails...
Editorial Rating:
to you...
...I'm still around and I will poke my head in from time to time. I know LiveModern will become great again... someday. But I'm very impatient, and as it stands right now, the blog I've maintained here is, for the most part, toast. Therefore I have gone back and recreated my Greenbelt 2 blog on blogger, which is where I will be blogging from here on out. So, if you are interested, please check me out at my new home: http://modhampton.blogspot.com
Peace.

See ya...
...but a question first. I emailed you asking if we had fixed everything on your blog and you did not reply. I don't see what's toast. Having feedback from you is the only way to fix it. We're pretty responsive to these reports, all the while fixing the big problems.

Sorry...
Marshall, I did contact you and you did reply that things were being fixed, and, indeed some things were fixed. However, I don't recall receiving an e-mail in which you inquired about whether everything was fixed. Perhaps it got filtered out by my ISP or I may have accidentally deleted it... I don't know. Anyway, I did notice that the photos are now back in my older blog entries (which they weren't as of yesterday). Thanks for that.
I know that you worked hard to upgrade the site and you had the best of intentions. And I know you are still addressing the bugs and quirks. But I have to admit that the old site, despite its timeouts and language character issues, etc., seemed to be so much more user-friendly and intuitive. I did notice that the number of postings in the forums and blogs has gone way down after the upgrade, and I suspect the performance/user interface issues were to blame.
Again, I have every reason to believe that this site will come back better than ever some day. But I am the impatient one around here... and for the time being blogger provides, at least in my opinion, an idiot-proof, fast and easy alternative that allows me to post information in a fraction of the time that it took here. This is purely an observation and should not be taken as a knock against your hard work and efforts here.
Do you suppose it would be helpful to start a new forum to solicit comments/suggestions about the upgraded site?

less user-friendly and intuitive...
Ed... Sorry to see you leave! Will miss that ironic humor.
I am helping Marshall with upgrading the software. Can you explain where the site is less user-friendly and intuitive?
Performance problems I understand, and we are addressing this aggressively.

I'm glad that you did notice there were *some* improvements. Frankly, you are the first to say so. Thanks!
It will help us a lot to receive specific feedback on the UI and how it might be improved. And there is a place already for it: the website forum (bottom of the list, http://livemodern.com/forums/website . Besides the comments that visitors/members send me using the contact link, this is the best way to provide feedback on the site.

I second that...
More importantly, I'm glad you brought up the LiveModern thing. It's gotten way out of hand is painfully obvious after the last 'upgrade' that the site is a bust. It's too bad, maybe it will fall into more capable hands someday.
