Plot Plan

Note that we had to plan for two leach fields; one for current use and another for possible future expansions. There is a seasonal streambed that hugs the south side of the property. It gives us a little more privacy. Also, our property is really two lots, together they're 15,000 s/f.

Sara, it's so inspiring to see all of this work and planning coming together. Any chance of you framing this?

Thanks for all the info!

Many thanks...

Hi Sara,

Just wanted to say thanks for posting your experiences, I have found it very helpful in my own project. My wife and I have a lot on which we wish to start building, come this January. We too live in southern California and have much interest in the Modern Modular style. I was wondering if you would be willing to share more about the financing aspect and which lender you chose. (We are currently with IndyMac). I am curoius how your loan is structured in relation to the construction process. Email or reply if you wish to spleeah@sbcglobal.net.

Many thanks again!

Best,

Paul K.

Woodland Capital

We got our loan from Woodland Capital- www.woodlandcapital.com I want to put up a blog entry detailing our loan terms but I'm battling the flu and I am a bit of a perfectionist, so I'll do it when I feel better in a few days when I can gather all of the financial documents. I think it's an integral part of the construction process and important to include.

The basic loan terms are mentioned throughout the blog entries. We put 5% down and we will pay 1% interest monthly on whatever amount has been drawn until the loan converts to a mortgage.

Thank you!
