USA Today Likes the Glidehouse
Marco R. della Cava, writing in this weekend's edition of USA Today, urges readers to "Grab your mouse. There's a new house for the hip point-and-click crowd." He's talking about the Glidehouse.
USA Today does not have an online version of the article yet (how retro!), so you'll have to buy a copy this weekend. Look for "Glidehouses make prefab a fabulous option" on Page 8 of the Life section (section D, Destinations and Diversions).
Other prefab's highlighted by Jill Herbers (author of Prefab Modern, in which the Glidehouse is also featured) in a sidebar include Rocio Romero's LV Home, Adam Kalkin's Quik House, the weeHouse, and Resolution 4: Architecture's Sub-Urban House.
Michael Sylvester from fabprefab summed it up well: "The clean and clutter-free lifestyle of something like the Glidehouse resonates with people who have had enough of the complexity of society. Many of us grew up in faux homes with glued-on themes. Faux Tudor, Faux Victorian. But this stuff is honest. It's of our time."
