We've made a lot of progress in the past year toward LiveModern's goals. I want to share with you a story illustrating why you should contribute to help build our modern community.

Earlier this week, the following comment, titled "We're taking the first step!", was posted to the SaraSage blog on LiveModern:

I just wanted to say that your blog is really inspiring to read. My wife and I have decided that we're going to purchase our first home, and thanks to this site in particular, it's going to be modern. Up until recently we just figured we'd have to settle for the standard off-the-shelf suburban home, but after discovering LiveModern, and the great information offered and posted by users such as yourself and the mods (Greg, Mark, etc.), we've decided that we're going for our dream home. So over the next two years we're going to do as you did and fix up our credit, scout for locations, plan, plan, plan some more, and finally, build. It's extremely exciting and once things get rolling a bit more we hope to post our own blog. Until then, I'll enjoy reading up on your progress and participating in this fine community!

Tom, Austin, TX

Tom's story is exactly why we established LiveModern over a year ago.

A powerful virtuous cycle is starting. Sara, the author of the blog, is building a modern home designed by Greg La Vardera (aka Greg from the quote above, and a true pioneer in our movement), from whom she found inspiration in his own blog.

This connection was made possible because LiveModern is building the community—many would say helping to jump start the market—for modern housing by putting the tools of the internet into the hands of people that will use them to create their own connections. Together, these connections are rapidly building the market for modern housing.

LiveModern is the largest and fastest growing online community dedicated to "making modernism affordable." Many people, like Tom, Sara and Greg, generously contribute content to LiveModern, while others contribute money.

As you are making plans to build, remodel, furnish, whatever your own modern home—whether you choose to share your stories on LiveModern or not—please consider making a financial contribution to LiveModern.

Your contribution will help make these and numerous new connections sustain and grow the LiveModern community.

Thank you for whatever contribution you make,

Marshall
