CA Boom II is about what’s happening now in independent
contemporary design. The event is North America’s only
multi-disciplinary design show dedicated to exposing the best in
contemporary and non-traditional architecture, furniture design,
interior design, and landscape design in an festival-like format. The
event is a 3-day trade fair, which seamlessly blends a series of indoor
and outdoor design exhibits, visits to 18 recently completed or
rarely-before-seen cutting edge homes, and an A List design and
architecture speaker’s program of industry leaders.
CA Boom II provides an unmatched opportunity for the design
professional, architect, specifier, retail dealer/buyer and select
group of design enthusiasts access to the most compelling array of
independent design resources today. The event provides an
opportunity for design industry leaders, design professionals and
discerning consumers to discover and meet renowned, innovative and
undiscovered furniture designers, manufacturers, architects, landscape
architects and interior designers.
Charles Trotter, Executive Producer of CA Boom II, recognized a shift
within the design community in that non-traditional and innovative
contemporary designers were moving away from standard design center
representation. He envisioned a non-traditional showcase that
would create new opportunities for sales, marketing and communication
between the design disciplines and their users.
Glowing in the success of CA Boom I in August of 2004, Charles Trotter
remarks, “There is a revolution going on in contemporary design. You
have interior designers dropping the word “interior”. You have
architects who are creating complete environments and not just the
structure. We created CA Boom so that these worlds could collide,
stimulate and foster in a non-conventional manner.”
Trotter adds, “CA Boom is also about uniting a design community and
positioning California as a destination for sourcing the best
independent contemporary design.”
Home Tours: CA Boom’s Home Tour participants will be treated
to rare, firsthand experiences of non traditional designs by some of
Southern California’s most distinguished architects and designers, such
as Steven Kanner, Glen Irani, Rodger Sherman, and David Hertz just to
name a few. The Home Tours incorporate of three days of shuttle
bus, guided visits to 18 of the best contemporary homes and unique
live-work spaces currently found in Venice, Mar Vista, Marina del Rey,
Santa Monica, West Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades and Brentwood.
Exhibitors include: A cultivated mix of vetted exhibitors based on category leadership, innovation, unique vision and note-worthy up-and-comers.
