Exploring a variety of approaches to the world of prefab, the exhibition "Some Assembly Required" Contemporary Prefabricated Houses" surveys several recent built designs that turn the dream of owning a modern home into a reality. These new designs utilize the latest technologies and reflect a range of approaches—from a kit of parts for self-assembly and factory-built structures that are delivered whole to customized modules and panelized systems that are combined in different ways and assembled onsite. Featuring the work of Alchemy Architects (weehouse), Lazor Office (FlatPak), Michelle Kaufmann Designs (Glidehouse and Breezehouse), and many more. "Some Assembly Required" started at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MN, December 2005 through March 2006.
