Site::Offsite, Architecture and the Factory-Built House

The University of Texas at Austin is hosting a conference investigating groundbreaking work done by architects and industry in the factory production of houses. The focus will be on improving quality and resource effectiveness, historical example, cultural implications and new fabrication technologies. Sponsored by the University of Texas Centers for American Architecture and Sustainable Development and, among others, the conference features presentations by Jennifer Siegal (Office for Mobile Design), Charles Lazor (Lazor Office, Blu Dot), Allison Arieff (Editor in Chief, Dwell Magazine), Lloyd Alter (Royal Homes), and Michelle Kaufman (Michelle Kaufmann Designs).
